An Author's Stage

Thoughts are faraway, though they should be near,
All my thoughts nowadays seem to steer
Away from my senses, far, faraway,
To another land--maybe today?

Books are opened, words are read,
I opened my mouth, I wish I hadn't said,
The words that made them leap off the page,
Making life like an author's stage.

Characters walking, roaming the earth,
At first it was great--I was full of mirth,
But soon dangerous things seemed to surround me,
I had to get them back--but I'd lost the key.

I searched high and low, for years, it was,
I had to find, had to find it because,
The people from the books had escaped into our world,
And the unstoppable fate's ship, its sails unfurled.

I found it one day, looking through books,
I didn't care about the strange looks,
That I got as I jumped with victory,
Because, now at least, I had the key.

I read the words, on the page,
And suddenly it was the book that was the stage,
They were swept back up, into the book,
And with relief, I finally shook.

So now I don't read, well, only with my eyes,
For if I did it with my mouth, you'd been in for a surprise,
For the characters, good and bad, would jump off the page,
And suddenly our world would be an author's stage.

Yes, yes, Piper hath changed.

Royal Tailor--music

I've really enjoyed this new music group called Royal Tailor. (Well, two of their songs. =P) Here are the two songs by them that I really like:
"Hold Me Together."

"Make a Move."
My family and I have really enjoyed these, though we like "Hold Me Together" better than "Make a Move", though "Make a Move" is a fun dance tune. :)
What are some of your favorite artists?

Me talking about cornfields. Yeah.

For now, call me Piper. (You should also know that this is really Storyteller. And, no, I'm not just making accounts willy nilly. This one just wasn't being used. =P)

Corn. I LOVE corn. I really, really do. It's just... ah... love you.... Anyway, I hope you know I'm talking about EATING corn.

And not only that, but cornfields are awesome. Ya ever seen one? No? Well they're really cool. They're just like out of a book or something!!! I used to live around them all the time. And now? Not so much.

(In fact, mostly not at all.)

But, hey, it's not just all about my rambling, now is it? This blog is only awesome because of the author. (Not me. Keep on listening.)

Because of Farm Girl. And THAT'S because she's just so awesome. :)

When all else fails... GO FOR THE RAINBOW UMBRELLA.

Hola, corny friends!! :)

I'm talking about, of course, picture choices. I have the most horrible time choosing pictures. So I went with the rainbow umbrella. =P

Anyway, if you hadn't noticed...

...IT'S ONLY A FEW DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!!! =)

I don't know about you guys, but Christmas is one of my favorite holidays, and because of the reason OF the holidays.

Christ.

And please don't try and take His name out of it. Jesus Christ is the reason for the season. Thank you for understanding. :)

Yesterday,  I watched the movie Up again. It's such a cute movie. :) And I like it that they show that people are more important than things like memories and things that you want to hold onto. He (the old man) realized that his wife Ellie was long dead and the only thing he was hanging onto (literally) was just a house.

Anyway, that's all.

Adios, amigos!!

The War on Christmas

Hi ya'll!!
How are all of you doing. Hard to believe that Christmas is only twelve days away.

I don't know about the rest of you, but because I am a Christian, this time of year is the most special to me. It is a time to slow down and reflect on the glourious truth that Jesus humbled himself to become human. To be born in a lowly stable, to parents that were neither rich nor influnential. This is so amazing, that He loved us enough to come down and seek and save that which is lost.

If your interested go to youtube, type in Dr. Jeffers on the O'Reilly Facotor talking about the war on Christmas. Dr. Jeffers, has alot of gumption to speak about his veiws so honestly. I believe that's the reason that Christmas is under attack. It is because, those of us that claim to be Christians, won't speak out about the truth. We're to busy trying to hide and save face.

Keep praying for those that are willing to endure the ridicule that follows, those that are strong enough to speak out. Pray for them. If you call yourself a Christian act like one, Christ paid too big a price, for us to sit back and not speak out. Just something to think about.

Remember the true reason for Christmas.
